Biography
Early Life & Career
Jon-Paul McConnell was born and raised in New Castle, Pennsylvania. His early life was shaped by a responsibility that defined his determination and work ethic. He always knew he wanted to help people find justice, a calling that led him to pursue a career in law.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History, with a minor in Political Science, from Youngstown State University. During his time in college, he was actively involved in Model United Nations, further honing his advocacy and analytical skills. Jon-Paul’s academic work earned him the prestigious B'nai B'rith Award for his research on the Jewish population in Poland, and he graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Legal Training
Jon-Paul went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University in 2012. His legal education prepared him for a career dedicated to justice and advocacy on a global scale, with recognition from the intelligence community and the former ambassador to Syria for his work in the region.

Awaiting admission to the New York and Pennsylvania Bars, Jon-Paul is eager to bring his passion for justice to Smith Clinesmith.
