Biography
Early Life & Career
Madysen A. Byson was born in Michigan and has called the Dallas–Fort Worth area home for nearly two decades. She attended Rick Reedy High School in Frisco, Texas, where she graduated with Cum Laude honors. Growing up, Madysen was an active athlete, competing on a traveling club volleyball team that participated in tournaments nationwide. She went on to earn her B.A. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Texas. While completing her degree, she worked part-time and completed Certified Nursing Aide training in 2019, balancing academics with valuable real-world experience. She was consistently recognized for her academic achievement, earning placement on the Dean’s List from 2019–2021 and graduating Cum Laude.
Legal Training
Madysen pursued her Juris Doctor at UNT Dallas College of Law, where she will graduate in 2025. During law school, she gained extensive advocacy and litigation training through her participation in the 2024 Nuremberg Moot Court, an international competition where she traveled to Germany to argue cases on international criminal law. She also competed in the 2024 Thompson Coburn Moot Court competition, earning second place overall with her partner. Madysen further developed her legal skills through internships at the Arlington City Attorney’s Office and the University of Texas at Arlington. She is currently awaiting the results of the July 2025 bar exam and plans to practice in Texas.

As a Legal Fellow at Smith Clinesmith LLP, Madysen brings her strong academic background, litigation training, and commitment to client advocacy to the firm’s litigation team.
