Biography

Early Life & Career

Mandisa grew up in Georgia and attended Wynbrooke Theme Elementary School. Highlighting her diligence from a young age, she received the 5th Grade Most Responsible Award. She attended Redan High School and Dacula High School, and later pursued her undergraduate education at Georgia State University. During her college years, she was involved in several extracurriculars, including serving as Events Coordinator for Quiet Storm Mentorship Program, co-founding College Curls, and volunteering for Softer Touch and Habitat for Humanity’s Hurricane Katrina Rehabilitation.

Mandisa’s passion for law was solidified during these years while participating in the Georgia State Prison Initiative, where she saw firsthand how legal decisions impact lives. Because of this, she decided to use her talents to help others through the legal system. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in English, specializing in Advanced Rhetoric & Composition.

Legal Training

Mandisa received her Juris Doctor from Mercer University School of Law in 2017, where she participated in a multitude of organizations, such as the Black Law Students Association, Mercer Advocacy Counsel, Association of Women Law Students, Mercer Law Honor Court, and the International Law Students Association. She excelled in competitions, earning the 2017 Outstanding Solicitor Award in the Robert F. Wagner National Labor and Employment Law Moot Court Competition, in addition to being a 2017 National Finalist and 1st Place Regional Finalist in the ABA Client Counseling Competition.

After being admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2017, Mandisa began her legal practice in 2018, gaining experience in practice areas such as Family Law, Business Law, Contract Law, and Intellectual Property Law. She is an active member of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys and the National Employment Lawyers Association.

Career at Smith Clinesmith

Mandisa is eager to contribute to Smith Clinesmith’s impactful work in nursing home abuse litigation. She is excited to be part of a dedicated, passionate team fighting for justice and advocating for the elderly. She looks forward to growing alongside the firm and making a difference in the lives of clients and their families.
