Biography
Early Life & Career
Samantha grew up in Gladwyne, PA just outside of Philadelphia. She attended Harriton High School in Rosemont, PA, and then moved on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a minor in Business from New York University.
Legal Training
Samantha applied to law school without really knowing if it was the right path for her. After enrolling at the University of Miami School of Law, she was fortunate to learn very quickly that she loves the law and enjoys reading cases and debating legal principles. During her time in law school, she excelled. She was on the Business Law Review and was a member of the Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Board. Here she was also fortunate enough to compete in the BMI/Cardozo Entertainment and Communications Law Competition, a national IP/entertainment law competition. During her 2L year, her team won the Best Brief Award and the entire competition. Finally, in her 3L year, she was elected as VP. After graduating, Samantha earned an LLM in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University.
Since graduating from University of Miami School of Law, Samantha has coached law students from the Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Board, helping them develop their brief-writing skills and oral argument skills to prepare for competition. For the last several years, she has coached students competing in the National Moot Court Competition, which has its regional competition in Atlanta, Georgia and finals in New York, New York. She enjoys working with law students to help them develop skills that they will use in their legal careers for years to come. She also volunteers with Magic City K9, a dog rescue organization in South Florida that works to rehabilitate overlooked dogs from local shelters and inmates in prison facilities by pairing them so that the inmates can learn valuable lessons and skills by training the dogs and the dogs become more adoptable through training. Since joining the volunteer team, she has helped MCK9 qualify for its first grant-funding and expand to include additional facilities, providing more second chances than ever before.
Career at Smith Clinesmith
Samantha has joined the firm as a Senior Associate for the Law and Motion department. She is excited to work on cases that mean so much to people who have been wronged, and who are otherwise overlooked by powerful corporations.
