Biography

Early Life & Education

Summer grew up in Gainesville, Florida, where her passion for advocacy and justice was sparked in middle school, as she recognized her innate ability to stand up for others and challenge injustices. She attended Gainesville High School and later pursued higher education at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), earning a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with double minors in Public Administration and English. During her time at FAMU, Summer was an active member of Student Government, which deepened her commitment to leadership and public service. Here, her academic excellence earned her membership in the Golden Key National Honor Society and the prestigious Florida Education Fund Scholarship.

Legal Training

After earning her undergraduate degree, Summer went on to attend Florida State University College of Law. While in law school, she was an active member of the Black Law Students Association, further fostering her dedication to community advocacy and development. She began her legal career soon after graduating with her Juris Doctor, gaining extensive experience in diverse practice areas including Civil Litigation, Estate Planning, Probate, and Family Law.

Summer continuously seeks opportunities to connect with peers and stay informed on developments in the legal field. An active member of the Eighth Judicial Bar Association, Josiah T. Walls Bar Association, National Bar Association, and in 2017, she was honored in Who’s Who of American Lawyers.
