Biography

Early Life & Career

Andrew B. Ramey grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, where he attended John Carroll Catholic High School and first discovered his interest in the legal field. A mock trial experience in high school gave him an early glimpse into litigation and helped him realize that law was a path in which he could excel. He went on to attend The University of Alabama, earning a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Business Administration with a major in Accounting and a minor in Computer Applications. During his undergraduate years, Andrew was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity, completing over 100 hours of community service, which strengthened his commitment to serving others and contributing to his community.

Legal Training

Andrew earned his Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law in 2024, where he was actively involved in student organizations and served as Vice President and Treasurer of the Entertainment, Arts & Sports Law Society, as well as a member of the Business Law Society. These leadership roles allowed him to explore diverse areas of law, develop strong advocacy skills, and collaborate with peers. He was admitted to the Alabama Bar in 2025, beginning his practice in civil litigation and bringing with him a strong analytical foundation from his accounting background.

Andrew joins Smith Clinesmith LLP as an Associate Attorney, driven by a desire to be a voice for the most vulnerable members of the community and inspired by the firm’s mission to advocate for individuals who have experienced harm or injustice. He looks forward to building meaningful client relationships, contributing to impactful litigation, and advancing the firm’s commitment to justice. Outside of his legal work, Andrew is a member of Greystone Golf and Country Club, and he values integrity, teamwork, and service—principles that continue to guide his professional life.
